Sinus Headaches: Is it sinus pressure or something else?

April 20, 2021 Headache 0

Sinus headaches are caused by increased pressure in the sinus cavities of the head. With the coming of springtime, pollen has increased in central Texas. With that people have allergic reactions to the pollen and other allergens in the air. Sinus headaches can be a common problem with seasonal allergies.

What are the sinuses?

Sinuses are air-filled cavities in parts of the head and skull. If they are functioning properly, they help to humidify the air we are breathing. There are 4 sinuses in the front of the head: frontal sinuses, maxillary sinuses, ethmoid sinuses, and sphenoid sinuses.
